My father William Ben Rose, bought the
Glyn Arms In 1953, and sold it 1964. The new owner never reopened the pub.
The door on the left hand side, was the shop entrance. This opened at 7.30
am for the drivers of a haulage firm just across the road and closed the
same time as the pub, 10.30. My parents worked very hard at the Glyn my
father also delivered Esso Blue and had a taxi service that included taking
school children to school at Shaftesbury. and for the last 3 yrs had a full
time job at Marglass Sherbourne. |
