The Castle Inn was situated on Long Street. This pub is now used as a private house.

Having crossed the street to the South side of Long Street, The Castle Inn rebuild is commemorated in stone on the street front, showing “Castle Inn 1800”. The complex of buildings formed three sides of a courtyard. One of the landlords was Tom Bowley, who, in his day, was the best bowler in England. The inn is now closed and the premises named Castle House are now used as a hairdressers.
