Golden House and attached 7/113
Outbuilding GV II House. C17 with C19 fenestration and dated T.S. 1855 on 2
window keystones. Chert and stone rubble walls with large stone quoins.
Concrete tile roof with gable-ends and hipped corner, with 4 brick stacks at
ridge and gable-ends. L-shaped plan, with door on North-East side. Two
storeys with the 4-window range at right angles to street. Ground floor
windows: C20 metal frames. First-floor: C19 cast-iron casements. Interior:
Deep-chamfered ceiling beam with run-out stops. Large open fireplace at rear
with chamfered lintel. Attached out-building along street; rubble walls,
brick quoins, slate roof. Golden House forms an important group-feature in
the High Street. Its curving street-frontage is notable. |
