The Cycle Hotel was situated at 2 Old Elvet. It was converted to the 1st Durham Workmen's Club c1900. By 1914 it had been converted and upgraded to ground floor shops with flats above. The newsagents at No.1 Old Elvet extended into part of it and is now an estate agents. Publican in 1899 was J.Bolt.
