Ed Cunningham 1953-1957 My father ( Peter Cunningham) moved we three brothers and a baby sister into this pub in or around August 1953. This was Dad's first "tenancy" with the Newcastle Breweries and our 3rd pub in my then 14 years of life. He was promised to take over the new "Prince of Wales" pub when it was constructed in Primrose Jarrow, but that never happened.
