The Centurion was situated on Wall Nook Lane.
This pub was originally called The Station Hotel and was present by 1891
when the publican was Thomas Suddes. Later renamed The Gay Tavern until 1974
when it was again renamed by its new proprietor, an army major who called it
the Centurion Inn after a Centurion Tank.It is now in residential use, however is still called Centurion House. |
