The Gun at Bowers Gifford  was  a very popular pub. I remember one old local who would drink in there, he was called `Ben`,and he would drink until he was leg- less. He used to come down from London to visit his Mother at weekends who lived in Pound Lane. When he left the pub at closing time he would walk home falling over many times, but he never ever seemed to hurt himself , great days, sorry it has closed.
