The Angel Inn was situated at
137 High Street.
This pub was established by the early sixteenth
century and closed in 1951. The premises today form part of ‘Angel
Court’, a complex of local council offices. |

According to his death certificate, my great, great grandfather Benjamin
Farran, plumber and glazier, accidentally fell to his death through a
skylight in this pub on the 17th March
1870. |
