The White Lion was situated on the High Street. The pub was closed and demolished in 1961.

My late grandfather Herbert Wright had this pub up to its demolition in 1961. My dad has a card stating, Morning Coffee, Luncheons, Teas, Bed and Breakfast, Wedding and other parties catered for. Tel Epping 2527. On the top left of the card next to a picture of the pub it states 'You're Always Welcome'. How they got away with pulling it down I do not know.
