I bought my first house in Great Waltham in 1983 and
loved an evening cycle up to the Star for a pint and something to eat.
Sad to see it is no longer a pub. |

Brian & Jenny helped out for a while at my old local, the Tower Arms,
South Weald, but yearned for their own pub and took on The Star. One
night a few carloads of us decided to pay them a surprise visit and
they certainly sold a lot of beer that night ! |

Was my favourite pub ever. As customers,-went often. I remember the
publicans in the names of Lyn and Graham.Their apple and blackberry pie
was to die for!, we travelled up from east London when ever we could. I
belive they were eventually transferred by the brewery to the Kings Head
in Elmdon. |
