The Star was situated on the Market Place.
Also known as The Starr, this
grade-II listed pub is now in use as a restaurant. |

building details: |
House. C17 and C18, timber framed. 'U' shaped
courtyard group. Main front block, facing Market Place, is of 2 tall storeys
with a half hipped gambrel peg tile roof with 3 gabled casement dormers.
Thin plaster cornice like band and large moulded plastered name panel with
scalloped corners. First floor has 4 double hung sash windows with small
panes and moulded surrounds. Off-centre late C18 doorcase with open pediment
with scroll brackets with diamond motif, thin pilasters, rectangular
fanlight and 4 panel door. 2 double hung sashes to L of door and one to R
with small panes and moulded surrunds. |
