The Angel was situated at 109 High Road. This
was a former coaching inn that closed in the 1980s. The premises became a
Burger King and is now (2010) a Bon Marche clothes shop. A replacement Angel
was built at the back but that is now called O'Neills. |
|
Now used as a Wendys burger restaurant. |

I was the licensee the judge was astonished when the local police put me
forward because I was so young but I got the licence with ease. I
enjoyed my time there as I was also a trainer of publicans for bass
charringtons. My husband was the licensee for the Volunteer in Barking
on the A13 roundabout at the same time. We stopped being publicans in
1983. They were both big pubs |
