The KIngs Head was situated at 11
West Street. Originally a coaching inn called the Blue Boar, it became the
Kings Head from 1793. Mary Wilson was the landlady in 1822. The building is grade-II listed
and dates back at least to the 17th century. The pub closed in December 2016
and an application to convert the building into bedsits and retail units the
following year was rejected. In November 2019 it opened as a community
space.
