Duke Of Wellington
The Duke Of Wellington was situated at 44 Market Place, Romford, and was
previously known as the Blucher's Head. |
The pub appears to have been built in the 1820's. Marshall Blucher commanded
the Prussian forces who fought with the British at the Battle of Waterloo in
1815. The name was changed to the Duke of Wellington on 15/4/1915 due to
anti- German public opinion during World War I. The pub was demolished in
1967.
