I am Belgian and grew up
near Dozinghem Military Cemetery, Westvleten, Belgium.
For many years I have been researching the cemetery so that these Dozinghem
lads will not be forgotten.
I do have contacts with a lot of relatives who visit the cemetery.
In the register of the cemetery I found this:
WRIGHT, Gnr. E. W., 931413. “B” Bty. 291st Bde. Royal Field Artillery. Died
of wounds 26th Sept., 1917. Age 19. Son of Charles Frederick and Kate
Wright, of the Rose and Crown Hotel, Southminster, Essex. V. E. 12.
No doubt the loss of a very young son will have been a tragedy for this
family (as for too many others). |
