The Red Lion was situated on High Street and is now used as a wine bar.

I knew there was a pub called The Lion in Wivenhoe in 1896. The rear part of the building is Red Lion Cottage and I had surmised that The Lion / Red Lion was part of this. The pub seems likely to have only been part of the frontage as this was a Sweet shop in the early 1900s run by Emily Barton.
