Lansdown Inn

The Lansdown Inn was situated on Gloucester Road. This pub has now been demolished and replaced by a branch of TGI Fridays.
My parents ran The Lansdown for 15 years or so in the 1970s / 80s. It had a double skittle alley, a Cotswold, Public and Lounge Bar. If you wanted food, the choice was ham or cheese sandwiches. Not hm and cheese - ham OR cheese!! I remember Forest Brown, Mackeson and Chelt sold by the bottle. A pint of Whitbread Trophy was 1/3d! The same price as a gallon of petrol...

Raymund Band 1965-1980 I was a regular at this pub along with quite a number of other local Cheltonians. I remember proprieters Mr & Mrs Bird (both Pat) until about 1975 who were followed by Dennis & Janet
