Joan Knight 1967-1973 The Royal Military Hotel (lovingly known as 'The Rat Pit' was my local as I lived in military quarters just over the road. I was also Captain of the Ladies Darts Team and had some fantastic times in this pub and have some wonderful memories. It would be lovely to meet up with some of the people who used the pub at the same time as myself.
Craig Butler mid 60s-early 80s I lived here with my parents, Tony and Peggy and brother and sister. Our grandparents assisted in the running of the pub. The pub had a saloon, and long bar and dart room. Obviously, a lot of our customers were military. My sister and I earned our pocket money by cleaning out the toilets before school. Not a task enjoyed by either of us. I do remember Joan Knight who was in the darts team.
