The White Horse was situated on Sun Lane. The pub was called The White Horse until the late 1700's when cricket became established and it was the clubhouse for local cricketers. Advertised for sale in 1835 but continued as The Cricketers pub until 1911 when a replacement pub (also called The Cricketers) opened a mile down the road. It then became a laundry until 1969 when it became a private house.
