hen we used to drink
there at lunchtimes. I was in the 1st Year 6th form at Queen Mary’s College.
We used to play Bar Billiards there (no, not Pool – proper Bar Billiards).
It might have been closed in say ’74 or ’75 – I can’t remember if we drank
there in the 2nd Year 6th or not. Our alternative watering holes were The
Lamb or the Victoria (both also gone now). Two pints of Guinness and a
Greigs Streak Pie came to 54p in those days (18p each) – that was exactly
our “dinner money” for the week! |
