The Popinjay was situated on Abbey
Road. This was an estate pub in Popley and is now a Chinese Restaurant
called Shangri-La. Date of closure is the late 2010s. It was closed
temporarily in 2014 after a string of violent attacks and fights. After it
reopened in 2016 it was burgled and money was stolen. It was evacuated in
2017 after a bomb hoax. |
