Bell Inn


The Bell Inn was situated on Canterton Lane. This grade-II listed pub was present by 1782 and closed in 2020. 
Now reopened.

Listed building details:
Hotel. Mid C18, altered C19 much extended late C20. Brick, old plain tile roof with lead top. 2 storey and attic on cellar, 3 bay, double pile. Front has light wells in front of flanking bays. Central C20 4-panel door under flat hood on brackets. Over 12-pane exposed-frame sash under rubbed arch with raised stone key. In flanking bays paired 12-pane exposed-frame sashes under wide rubbed arches with raised stone key, larger on ground floor. All windows have external shutters. Raised dentilled cornice. Three 2-light hip-roofed dormers. Hipped roof. Squat stacks on return ridges. To LH rear corner 1½ storey C20 addition.
