The Penhale Arms was situated at 101 Fratton
Road. This pub closed in 1982 and is now in retail use. |
|
The Penhale Arms was one of my locals
in the mid 1960's. Along with my mates played a lot of darts here, in fact
my father, myself and some of my friends played in their team.
Bert Robinson and his wife where mine hosts during the time that I used the
pub. It was a launch pad for Fratton Park on Saturday afternoons.
Mr Robinson's mother was the victim of a murder during the war. She was
strangled in the pub that she ran, I believe somewhere in Buckland. |
