The Globe was situated on Goddard's Lane and probably closed in the 1950s; it was an off-licence from the early 1960s, advertising in the parish magazine. It is mentioned in the reminiscences of Dorothy Sims, a resident of Sherfield on Loddon and is now a private dwelling called Globe House.
