Aggie Greys

Aggie Greys was situated at 59 St Marys Road. This pub was present by 1869 when it was known as The Halfway House, a beerhouse owned by Scrases Star Brewery. In the 1920s it was taken over by Strongs Romsey Brewery, and granted a full licence on 8th March 1960. It was taken over by Whitbread in 1969, closed on 5th April 1974 and reopened as The Compton Arms in 1980. It subsequently changed its name to Aggie Greys before closing permanently.
