The Atlantic Arms was situated at 11 Mount
Street. This pub was present by the 1860s when it was known as The Firemans
Arms. It changed its name to The Atlantic Arms in 1890 and closed in 1913,
when it was refused a licence due to its filthy condition and poor
accommodation. Gibbs Mews Salisbury Brewery received £582 as compensation
for the closure. It was demolished under the slum clearance scheme of the
1930s and Queensway now runs over the site. |
