Fully licensed since the 1840’s when Edward
Sherwood was landlord. This Scrase’s Star Brewery pub was originally called
The Belvidere Inn but had its name changed to The Belvidere Hotel to avoid
confusion with the Belvidere Arms in Belvidere Road, when it changed its
name to Belvidere Inn in 1908. It was taken over by Strong’s Romsey Brewery
and then by Whitbread’s Brewery in 1969. It closed on 5th April 1976 and has
been used as offices by several companies since then. |
