Bulls Head

The Bulls Head was situated at 55 French Street. This 14th century building was used as a beerhouse called The Flag by 1820. Eldridge Pope took over the lease of the pub in 1883 and finally bought the freehold for £425 in January 1895. It was refused a licence in 1912 and the brewery received £1542 in compensation.
