The Burton Tavern was situated at 26 Orchard Lane. This pub was present by 1869 when it was called The Burton Ale House, changing its name to The Burton Tavern in the 1890s. Welsh's Hyde Abbey Brewery were the owners in the early 1900s, before it was taken over by Coopers Brewery and then by Watneys. It closed and was demolished in the 1950s, when the area was redeveloped. Its licence was surrendered on 5th April 1957.
