The Eagle on Palmerston Road closed in 2010 and the building, a prominent Mock-Tudor edifice, is now used as convenience store. There were once about five pubs in this relatively small block of the city, however the Angel is the only one left now and that is struggling. The Eagle was on the market as a pub for a while but to no avail.
