The Masons Arms was situated at 45 St
Mary
Street.
I don't know what happened to it but I lived in it as a child. |

Arthur Albert Dominy (born South Stoneham, Southampton 11 February 1893,
died Mitcham, Surrey 23 September 1974) was an English professional
footballer, who played as an inside-forward, and football manager, spending
most of his career with Southampton. After retiring from league football, he
returned to Southampton and became a licensee at the Mason's Arms in St.
Mary's Street, whilst playing occasionally for Newport (Isle of Wight),
often playing alongside his former Saints' partner, Bill Rawlings. A local
loved this pub so much that they had a purpose built Mock Tudor pub
constructed in the heart of Koh Phangan within reach of the port town of
Thongsala and a short taxi ride from most beach resorts and named the
Mason's Arms. http://www.themasonsarms.in.th/ |

This 1830s Coopers Brewery pub was eventually
taken over by Watneys. Closed in 1992 due to persistent trouble it was
converted to flats. |
