The Queens Hotel was
situated on Albert Road South. This pub closed in the 2000s. |

A Frank Osman started work at the
Queen's Hotel in 1934. He was a survivor of Titanic by means of lifeboat #2.
Due to failing health (heart, blood pressure and two minor strokes) and I
assume depression, he ended his own life in 1936 in the buildings basement.
His wife said he got to where he was afraid to go outside in fear of
collapsing in public. On the 8th of June his wife said that he was friendly,
jovial with the pub guests, but was later found in the basement of the
hotel/pub having hanged himself, aged 54. |
