The Russell Tavern was situated at 6 Russell Street. The
1850s saw a W. Kent as landlord of this Winchester Brewery beer house then
called the Ship Inn. The name changed to The Russell Tavern in the 1890s; it
was brought by Marston’s Brewery in the early 20th Century. The pub's beer
licence was suspended on 13th February 1956 and by 1960 the pub and
Russell Street had been flattened and redeveloped. |
