The Windsor was situated on Windsor Terrace. This building had a long history dating back to the 18th century. Originally a private residence called Windsor House, it was converted to a hotel in 1843. The hotel was largely rebuilt in the late 19th century, with the east wing of the original house being incorporated into the new building. It was demolished in 1987 to make way for the Marlands Shopping Centre.
