The Spare Rib was situated at 5 Church Street. This pub has now been demolished and replaced by a private house. Publican in 1843 was Thomas Faircloth.
 
In 1843 Elizabeth Armsted 47, wife of George John Wickham 15, baker, were accused at Huntingdonshire Quarter Sessions of stealing one stone of flour from Thomas Gray Faircloth, proprietor of the Spare Rib public house, St. Ives. Armsted was acquitted; Wickham received three months hard labour.
