Royal Oak

The Royal Oak was situated on Main Street.  This grade-II listed pub closed in 1982 and is now in residential use.

Listed building details:
Cottage formerly Public House. Early C17. Timber framed, roughcast rendered and long straw thatch half hipped roof. One storey and attic. One small C19 gable dormer. Ground floor has one horizontal sliding sash and C19 boarded door with bead and quirk moulding. South east end has modern casement and doorway. Inside: One room has ceiling of joists of substantial scantling laid flat and suggesting an early C17 date which may also be the date of the adjoining cottage an the north west.
