The Bald Faced Stag was situated on Ashurst Hill. Now used as a private house.

Used to drink here with members of my local cricket club after we had played Ashurst who’s ground was just down the road. A local regular was Harry Allen who always wore a flat cap tilted to one side and rode a large Vellocet motor bike. I knew Harry who was a bit of a character as he was an angler who belonged to the same fishing club as I did.
