The Fountain Inn was situated on Tonbridge Road. Closed on 12th July 2010, it is being currently (August 2010) refurbished and will open as an Indian restaurant. In 1904 its location became the terminus for the Maidstone to Barming Tramway. Before that horse traffic had been catered for extensively at The Fountain Inn.

Hilda Gallagher 1972-1976 A very big pub with a very large clubroom ,in our time there we catered for a dozen or so wedding receptions, work was hard but it was a good family pub. A huge garden area was behind the pub.
We hade lots of special nights, it was the time of Topsy Turvey or Tarts and Tramps. Wonderful.
