The Lighthouse Inn was situated at 111 Old Dover Road and closed in July 2019, with the land likely to be sold for development. Originally Vineyard Lodge (a wine and ale house) from around 1840, it was renamed Capel Lodge in 1870. It became Capel Court Country Club in 1967 and housed Channel Tunnel workers during construction of the tunnels. It was renamed The Lighthouse in 1998.
