Brickmakers Arms

The Brickmakers Arms was situated on Heath Lane, closing in the late 19th century.

This beerhouse crops up in my family history. It was owned  (as far as I can establish) by Thomas Smith and run by  (his friend) Tabitha Reynolds until at her death 1871  by whom he had many children. Thomas Smith was also a brickmaker who's brickworks was on land where Dartford Golf Course is today. He employed 7 men and 2 boys. It was still open as a beerhouse in 1881 but there is no trace of it in 1891 census.
