Terrace Tavern

The Terrace Tavern was situated at 46 The Terrace. This pub was present by 1837.  It was tied to the Russell’s Brewery of Gravesend and the exterior of the pub still has some excellent faiance tiling advertising Russell’s ‘Shrimp Brand’ beers, dating from around 1913.  It later became a Truman’s Brewery house.  The pub closed in 2009 and is currently empty.
Since May 2013 this pub has been used as an Eastern European food and wine store.

Ron Mochrie 1990 This was one of the best pubs in Gravesend and the landlord Dave Gandy one of the best. This was a party pub, very friendly customers and great atmosphere. Dave had a football team, indoor cricket team, darts and pool team and I played in them all. One of the happiest periods of my life and I made so many friends. There was always something going on and fortunately I lived fifty staggering yards away!
Sylvain Giraud 1987/1988 After so many years , i would love to hear about Marnie , Dave , Hasel and Allister Gandy .
