Oddfellows Arms

The Oddfellows Arms was situated on Minster Road.
I remember the Odds’ from 1969 of thereabouts, The Landlords name was Jack and although I can’t be certain he had a definite military bearing about him. Things I remember, The loo at the end of the garden, a really good juke box, playing poker dice for ½ bottles of pale ale, double diamond on keg ,the old Kent elm dartboards with only a bull and doubles ring (no treble or 25 ) one board on the wall and the other in bucket of water to soak out the holes, the board was changed once a week, played darts for the pub for a while including against some old boys who threw their darts from the chest rather than from alongside the ear .A traditional pub with public bar ( with lino on the floor) to left, lounge bar to the right (with carpet) where the drinks were a bit more expensive and a jug and bottle between them. Had many a good night here, friendly and welcoming.
