The Railway Hotel was situated at 30 Station Road. This pub was built in 1905 and demolished in 1982.

Arthur Hughes 1950-1964 My father was the landlord from about 1950 t0 1964. He had previously been at the Bell Smarden from when he married in the late 1920s and then my parents took the Railway Hotel .I was born in the Bell and moved with my parents.
St John Ash 1964-closure My parents Irving and Peggy Ash took over the pub in 1964 from Mr and Mrs Hughes .
