The Shrew Beshrewed was situated on Island Road.  The building was erected between 1930 and 1931, opening in the latter year as the Westbere Social Club & Institute, closing eight years later in 1939. In 1952 it re-opened as the Shrew Beshrewed. Whitbread sold the pub in 1980 and it closed in 1988. It now houses a mower company.
