The Fishers Arms was situated at 22 Scott Street. This pub is now in residential use.

Just one of many locals I had in my youth that closed (usually due to Breweries greed, rather than anything else). The Landlord and Landlady were proper ‘Trekkers’ and every Monday night after the pool match there would be a lock in while we all watched Star Trek, The Next Generation on Sky and the L&L would occasionally dress in full Star Trek outfits. The bar itself was a splendid example of Victorian bar design with hidden panels and ornate coving. It was a good side street local with a good crowd. Much missed.
