This pub was present by 1839 and survived until at least
1958. It is now in use as a restaurant. |

Gazette August 24th 1787: |
Cricketing. On Monday, the 27th
instant, will be played at Milton, a Match of Cricket, between the Gentlemen
of the Star Club, Chatham Hill, and the Gentlemen of Milton Club, with one
Man given, for One Guinea a Man. The Wickets to be pitched at Nine o’Clock
and the Game played out. A good Ordinary at Philip Chapman’s, White Hart
Inn, Milton. |
