been built on the site. |

My grandfather built most of the houses in the
1930’s along the street adjacent to the Seven Stiles, Amhurst Terrace. As a
kid in the early 1960s, I remember it as more of an off license (Sunday
lunch bottle of Mateus Rose?) rather than a hard core boozer. |

I'm the niece of the original landlord, I was
there on opening night in I believe 1958. I was also there when my Uncle
died. |
