The Star & Garter was situated on London Road.
From 1957-1960 I was a boarding pupil at Tonbridge School. We had our haircuts at school by a little short man (I forget his name), probably in his 60s, who also used to (unofficially) collect bets on horses. He was a regular drinker at The Star and Garter, as we were all too aware when he cut our hair, due to the smell of his breath.
