The Globe Inn was situated at 183 Blackburn Road, closing in 2008.

George Singleton was the Licensed Victualer according to the 1909 Ordnance Survey map.
On the 22 July 1916 my mum Elizabeth Holmes, nee Leeming, was born at the Globe Inn, 183 Blackburn Road Accrington. Her grandfather, Zachariah Leeming, was the Licensed Victualer there until his death on 25 July 1927. His wife, Elizabeth Leeming nee Cunliffe, died 20 Dec 1926 at the Globe Inn. On her death certificate it states wife of Zachariah Leeming, Licensed Victualer, 183 Blackburn Road Accrington Lancs.
I am unable to fill the gap from prior 1916 and not sure how long George Singleton was the Licensed Victualer there.
I have traced Zachariah Leeming my great grandad from ancestry .co.uk. He was born in Micklethwaite, Bingley Yorkshire 2 March 1855.

As a schoolgirl in the late 1960's I had a friend called Christine Dunn whose mother ran this pub, Mrs Dunn was a lovely lady, and I would help clean up the bar before opening time but only on the odd occasion, the smell of ale was not pleasant to me and subsequently I have been tee-total all my life and have often wondered if this was the reason why.
