The Clarence

I am an Officer for a Facebook page for pubs &
breweries past & present in Blackburn. I remember a pub called The
Clarence on Stoneybutts in the middle of the shopping precinct (which
didn't have shutters on it in those days) which closed in the early 80s. I
think was a Thwaites tied house. It would be great if somebody could submit a
photo of it.
Blackburn underwent comprehensive redevelopment
in the Sixties & Seventies which resulted in old street names
being incorporated into the new precinct.
It would appear that we had
a Clarence Hotel on Lord Street which predates my time, being born in 1973.
The Clarence I am talking about is its replacement & Stoneybutts is an
old street name which had disappeared off the map until the early 70s when
that section of the precinct was built.
